Character Problem

Hi everybody. I have a big problem with javascript. When i pressed i character by my keybord, the ascii equivalent of i comes as 222 not 73. As you know ascii equivalent of i character is 73 not 222. Because of this i have a earch problem in my combobox. Please help..
