Career as UX Designer

Question

Hi, I am working in an MNC .I have worked on ASP.NET .So,I have basic knowledge for ASP.NET.So As per company norms I need to change my domain to UX (XD-User Experience Design)Designer where I will go under Training on HTML,CSS and Javascript.So Please tell me is it good option.?Should I go for it or not.What are the opportunities and demand available as UX Designer?
