Cannot get a Sytem.Windows.Controls.Image from WCF web service to a Silverlight application.
Jul 2 2010 5:15 AM
Hello everyone!
I have just created new Silverlight and Silverlight.Web projects. In my Silverlight.Web project I have a .svc file where all my methods I want to use in my Silverlight project are written.
All those methods return basic objects such as string or int.
When I want to add the Silverlight.Web service reference to my Silverlight project everything works perfectly and I can use all the created methods without any problems.
But, here is the problem: when I want to create a new method in my .svc file, a method which returns a System.Windows.Controls.Image object, I cannot add a Silverlight.Web service reference to my Silverlight project anymore! And I have the following error message:
" (415) Unsupported Media Type. If the service is defined in the current solution, try building the solution and adding the service reference again. "
I guess that the problem comes from the return type of my method (System.Windows.Controls.Image), but I am not sure about it.
Thanks for your help!
