Can VB .Net do these things I need
Dec 1 2004 10:59 PM
Hi, I'm starting a portfolio management business, and I have created, using VB for Apps, a very handy Excel spreadsheet that keeps portfolios and cash balances (in 6 currencies) up-to-date. The size of the workbooks gets very large however. My question - can VB .Net be used to create an app that not only stores past transactions (which I understand is easily done in a Database), but that can also perform the necessary maths to add/subtract positions and construct up-to-date portfolio with dde live prices fed into it. I have in my mind that it would be ideal to meld the qualities of both Exel (great for setting out portfolios and performing many calculations) and Access (to store data) to acheive what I want to do. Can this be done? thanks anyone. Sam
