can anybody help - highly unusual compilation problem

Jan 9 2006 5:30 AM

Hi everyone

I'm new to .net and have started to encounter an extremly suspicious error. When trying to access an objects properties, methods etc, the available options are not being offered and on compilation I keep getting an error that suggests the control 'denotes a 'field' when a 'class' is expected', when I hard-type one of its methods.

This started happening out-of-the-blue after adding a listview. I tried to add a listview to another project, which seemed to work the 2nd time but hasn't since. Ever since this point, code that had previously compiled successfully, is now throwing said error. Interestingly, VB.net seems fine, each time?

I am using a trial version of VS.net. If anyone has encountered this bug and aware of any fixes out there, I'd be deeply indebted!

As I'm trying to learn the language in view of getting a job very soon, I'd really love to get over this very irritating hurdle.

yours very hopefully
