C# App for Image Capture and Color detection

Question

Hi Guys i want to build an application that will be able to take a picture of a piece of wood. It will then need to be able to look at that wood and tell me which color brown it is. We dye our wood so we have 5 types of brown and need to know the color of the new pieces of wood that come in so we know which color bath they need to go into. Is this possible and how would i go about this?
