ASP.NET and sockets

Hi, i am new to asp.net. i am currently a software engineer in VC++. i need to build a web page that can
connect to a piece of software i have written in vc++ using sockets.. i am unsure whether to use c# or
vb ??? does anyone have any suggestions ??
