AM USING C# and sql---

Question

Hello dears, i just want to know some details to fasten my web.

is sql procedure>(faster than ) wen we write qury as a string in server side page and execute....?????????

if use more than two subqueries in one query to avoid filling grid,to get required reort for eg: if we retrieve two values from a table we can directy check in sql whter one is > thn two..and in another metho in item databound of grid or somthng else..
here my question is more than 1 sub query  cause any time delay ??????
