ADO.NET vs EntityFramework , What to choose ?

From last few days , one question raised in my mind

 

That What to Choose between ADO.NET vs EntityFramework

 

I am working as a .NET Developer(Joined Few Days Ago)

 

So our trainer told us to follow ADO.NET rather than EntityFramework

 

Because they give priority to ADO.NET

 

But as per i have studied about EF , i think there is lot more advantage of EF rather than ADO.NET

 

So i want some depth reply of your's , that what kind of data access mechanism you are using for big projects/Enterprise projects
