hi, my requirement is in my datatable contains 14 columns and above 30 rows. i want to add rows to the data gridview one by one on clicking a button at run time . how can i do it in c#.plz help

I know its a bit late, but remove this line of code dtable.Rows.Count > rowindex or replace it with dtable.Rows.Count > 0 from the code you gave above.

Hi Roy, I can't understand why my solution does not work for you. It works for me. It adds the first record when you click on the button. When you click again, it adds the second record below the first record. Likewise when you click on the button, it adds a record as the last row of the datagridview.

have you defined all the columns in the datagridview at design time in the same order as they would be in datatable? By the way why don't you set datagridview1.DataSource=datatable; you can easily map each column by setting DataPropertyName property of each column in datagridview to corresponding columnname of datatable.

Hi Roy Now only I realized your question is bit tricky. It's not simple as it seems. But I found the solution for your problem. Please do not forget to mark Do you like this answer check box of you like my answer. Using ' NewRowIndex' property will resolve your problem. 1. First in designer mode you should add 14 columns to your datagridview. 2. Let's say the name of your datatable is 'dtable'. (I hope you have written code to get the data table.) 3. Let's say you have defined a variable like this. (This line should be outside the methods and inside the class.) int rowindex = 0; 4. Then in the button click event write following code. private void button1_Click( object sender, EventArgs e) { if ((dtable != null ) && (dtable.Rows != null ) && (dtable.Rows.Count > rowindex)) { int row = dataGridView1.NewRowIndex; dataGridView1.Rows.Add(); for ( int columnindex = 0; columnindex { if (dtable.Rows[rowindex][columnindex] != null ) dataGridView1.Rows[row].Cells[columnindex].Value = dtable.Rows[rowindex][columnindex].ToString(); } rowindex++; } } Please do not forget to mark Do you like this answer check box of you like my answer.

hi plz give the code more clearly I have problem in adding new row one by one to datagridview when the user clicks on add button in runtime. When the user clicks on the add button, the data row in gridview will be displayed. however, it only works for one new row, every time the button is clicked, the row will be replaced by a new row. Is there any way I can add new row to the existing rows by clicking button? Please suggests any solution. Much appreciated.in c#

hi, simplest way could be to write this code on button_click() Here you'll have to maintain RowNumber (int) that is initialized as formvariable to -1. increment it on each button click. dataGridView1.Rows.Add(dataTable["Column1Name"][RowNumber], dataTable["Column2Name"][RowNumber],... upto 14); RowNumber++; please try it and tell me if it was worth it.
