About mobile Information

Hi all, Myself Pratik Patel , I have just started for developing in C#.NET. I got information that Mobile Application developed in .NET can only run in Microsoft enabled smart-phones. Is it true ? If not then how can i deploy application to those phones. If yes then what to do if i want to write my code in C# and deploy it on phones Thnx in advance.
