Will Microsoft Abandon Windows Phone?

If you are a regular visitor of C# Corner, I am sure you have read about Microsoft abandoning Silverlight development. As a matter of fact, the next Silverlight 5 may be the last breed of Silverlight you will ever see. Microsoft is more focusing on Metro style apps, XAML and HTML 5.

In a recent launch of Windows 8, it seems like Metro style apps are the way to build all Windows, Tablet and smartphone applications.

So what happens to Windows Phone? There have been a lot of work put in Windows Phone development. Developers have spent years learning this new technology. I guess Microsoft has to drop Windows Phone and just focus on a lighter version of Windows 8 that will run on smartphones.

Looks like Microsoft and Nokia finally found a roadway to success. After successful launch of recent Windows Phone loaded smartphones, now Nokia is working on Windows 8 tablets. Microsoft is making Windows 8 the universal operating system that will be loaded on all devices including PCs, Tablets, and smartphones.
