Most of you must be aware of the fact that, SharePoint 2013 has introduced a new way to include your JavaScript and HTML contents through the Embed Code. The Embed Code is located under the Insert Ribbon tab when you edit a Site Page in the SharePoint 2013.
Now, you would be wondering, then, what is the purpose of the Script Editor Web Part? The Script Editor Web Part is used to paste your html and JavaScript components and it is a reusable one. But this is not the case with the Embed Code.
Another major difference is that the Embed code allows you to place the Iframe elements, whereas the Script Editor Web Part doesn't.
