Introduction
PowerApps and FLOW are included in almost all Office 365 plans with more or less features. That gives enormous power to use these products to extend your Office 365 capabilities by developing apps and workflows easily.
With both PowerApps and FLOW, Microsoft have provided tons of connectors to connect to other applications. Microsoft is working hard to provide more connectors with its every month release.
Beyond the Office 365 plan versions of PowerApps and FLOW, there are PowerApps Plan 1, Plan 2 and Flow Plan1 and Plan2 licenses as well. These provides more capabilities of CDS (Common data service), Creating Custom connectors, creating Model driven apps, number of FLOWs per user, lesser check time, Premium connector and many more.
What has changed?
With effect from 1st Feb 2019, following features will not be available as part of Office 365 Plan, you need to purchase PowerApps/Flow Plan and Plan 2 licenses.
- Create and publish custom connectors in PowerApps and Microsoft Flow (Till now you could create at least one custom connector and use it)
- HTTP Connectors
- Integration of on-premises data through the on-premises data gateway (e.g. SQL connector with on premise gateway)
How does this impact to existing users?
Customers with active users of these features will get an automatic extension until January 31, 2020 or the expiration of their existing Office 365 subscription term (whichever is longer).
So, no need to worry till Jan 2020, having said that you need to start planning from now to purchase required licenses in future.
