Introduction
In this blog, you will see how to create and manage tags in Microsoft Teams. Teams owners can create tags and assign people to them so that they can @mention a group, role, department, etc.
Create and Manage Tags
Navigate to Team, click More options …> Manage Tags.
Click Create tag.
Enter the tag name and add people. Click Create.
Tag created successfully.
Navigate to Team, click More options …> Manage Team.
Click Settings -> Tags -> Allows to manage who can create the tags.
Test the tag using @mention
Navigate to the channel conversation or chat. In a channel conversation, @mention a tag in your message and you can select from the list of available tags.
Note
I have created a tag named Project Managers and added 2 members to it. In the conversation, I have mentioned @Project Managers.
