Filtering External list in SharePoint 2013

In this blog, we will see how to set up the filtering of external list in SharePoint 2013. Here are the steps below.

1. Edit the External content type using SharePoint Designer.
2. Click Operations Design view to list all operations defined on the external source.
3. Click on the existing ReadList operation
4. Click Next to get Filter Parameters Configuration.
5. Click Add Filter Parameter.
6. In the New Filter textbox, provide a filter name.
7. Select Compare or Wildcard filter types.
8. Select the operator as Equal for equal comparison and the filter field you want to search.
