Distance mode technical course

Disclaimer : In this blog I am using "technical course" word specifically for MCA/MBA course and it doesn't refer BE/BTech or engineering stream courses. Though this term is highly used for BE/BTech/Engineering stream.

Distance mode's Higher education (excluding technical) is now under control of UGC. Earlier governing body “DEC” of IGNOU has been dissolved. UGC has accepted DEC's existing pattern for now and will come with its own revision in time to time.

Anyone willing to take admission in technical courses must check the recognition of Technical approval body i.e. AICTE for that specific course. AICTE approves/regulate technical courses for institutions/universities.  Two-three months before, honorable court has said that AICTE approval is not required to start these courses for a University. But, be cautious while choosing institution/universities for technical courses as the final verdict is to be come yet, because AICTE has appealed against this decision.

Again, as I have advocated earlier, would like to suggest IGNOU, Madras University for distance-mode technical courses.

Many guys ask me regularly and doubt that I might have done MCA from IGNOU and that is the reason for my IGNOU advocacy. J No, it's not like that.  IGNOU is the central open university of India and its MCA (also MBA) is recognized by AICTE. It was regulating Distance Education of India and has set a benchmark for Universities. Education quality is good. So, there is no if but on course recognition. People mostly fear that its students hardly get passed. Hmm!!!   Its not the reality. Actually people misuse its facility and cry on exam day. They think that they will crack exam easily and finally in exam they think that they will do better in next attempt… Have they gone through the materials provided by IGNOU in time, they would have in better position to qualify with good marks.

For UGC notification on ODL ( Open and Distance Learning) that rules now can be found here :

http://www.ugc.ac.in/pdfnews/0450821_ODLSystem.PDF

So, from 4th May'2013, IGNOU's DEC is no more ODL governing and regulation body and UGC has taken the charge.

Be smart and check UGC website, AICTE website and decide to get admission in open or distance mode courses.
