How To Enable/ Disable Rich Text Editor In The Timeline In Dynamics 365 CRM Online

You might see this behavior of not having the Rich Text Editor in the Notes's under the Timeline.

If you want to enable Rich Text Editor in the Timeline's notes then follow the below steps.

Step 1

Login to Maker Portal with valid credentials.

Step 2

Choose your required Environment.

Step 3

Click on Settings.

Step 4

Click on Advanced Settings.

Step 5

Click on System Settings.

Step 6

Click on the Checkbox "Use rich text to make it easier to format notes created in Timeline." under Enable rich text notes in Timeline in the General Tab.

Step 7

Click on OK to enable this setting.

Step 8

Clear the Cache and open any record which has the Timeline in it to see the rich text editor experience in the Notes.

Disable Rich Text Editor in the Timeline

If you do not need this Rich Text Editor in the Note's Timeline,

Make sure "Use rich text to make it easier to format notes created in Timeline." is not checked and click on OK.

Now, you can see the Notes without Rich Text editor in the Timeline.

Note: Turning off rich text notes in timeline will affect all existing rich text notes. These notes will contain HTML tags and will require manual cleanup.
