Creating Tabbed iOS Applications

Introduction of Tabbed Application
 
In this article, we will learn about the Tabbed Application in iOS. We have two options: one is to choose the tabbed Application when you create your project while the other one is to choose a Single View Application and then make a Tabbed Application. Both are good ways but the most efficient way is to choose Single View Application and then make Tabbed Application because in this way, you can easily customize and add the View Controllers.

Tabbed Application is efficient because it manages the stack memory viz-a-viz the WhatsApp Application which is so popular.
 
Step 1: Click Xcode editor, open it, choose the Single View Application and click the create button, as shown below:

Now the product name depends on you, I chose my organization name. The identifier should be unique. If you can’t follow this, when you deploy the app on app store, you will face this type of problem and check the Core Data; it is basically used for the database section and then click create button. Now, your project is ready.



Step 3

Now, click Main. Storyboard file is the one where we design all the interfaces of the iPhone screen and I told you in starting, that we create our own tabbed  Application, delete this View Controller and in the object library, select the tabbed View Controller, drag and drop into the Main Storyboard.



Step 4

Now you see in the Main Storyboard, you have some interface of this type which is created after dragging and dropping and then tabbing the View Controller. Now, go to the object library, drag the simple View Controller and drop into Main Storyboard.



Step 5

Now, left click on the tabbed View Controller. You see in Triggered Segues, that the View Controller appears in the second line and in the right side, the plus button appears. Now, click and drop into the View Controller. Now, this new View Controller is connected. Now, run the Application and your tabbed Application is ready.
