What is new in Firefox 5
Firefox 5 is available for download now. Mozilla claims, the
new version is more faster, cooler and awesome.
- App Tabs
- Autocomplete location bar
- Tab groups
So what is new in Firefox 5?
The one thing I noticed immediately is new tabs and groups.
Mozilla is calling them fabulous tabs.
App Tabs are
new addition to Firefox 5. App Tabs allow you to always keep your favorite web
apps like Facebook, Gmail and Twitter open and just a click away. App Tabs are
small, can't be closed accidentally and open automatically when you start
Firefox. This article goes over the features of App Tabs and will show you how
use them.
Location bar autocomplete is another new feature added to
this version. The
location bar is often called the Awesome Bar because it's great at
remembering websites you've been to and guessing where you are trying to go.
Just type a few letters of a website's name or address into the location bar
and it will find it for you. And the more you use it, the better it gets. This
article covers the details of how the location bar works and will have you
using it like a pro in no time.
Another new feature is called Tab Groups. Tab Groups
(also known as Panorama) are an easy way to organize a lot of tabs. With Tab
Groups you can visually group related tabs, switch between groups and quickly
search through all of your tabs. This article will have you juggling dozens of
tabs in no time.
Here are couple of screen shots of Firefox 5.
